Having dry hair can be a huge set back in your eyes. You look in the mirror and see a dull lifeless mane. You ask your reflection, why is my hair so dry looking? It’s alright. Hair does not have its own natural lubrication, so it relies on the oils made in the roots. Your hair may be dry because your scalp isn’t producing enough oil to moisturize your hair or your hair is letting the moisture escape. When your scalp doesn’t produce enough oil, it can cause a dandruff problem.

If your hair hasn’t always been dry, it can be due to the things you are doing and using on your hair like harsh shampoos, perms, hair dyes, swimming, and over use of heat appliances. To keep your hair hydrated, you need to use a moisturizing product once a week to bring back the moisture that your hair is losing. Before you go to bed, apply a light amount of oil and brush your hair into a little bun. The oil will spread while you sleep, so that your scalp will get the hydration it needs.

When you wash your hair, do not forget to condition, that is a key part into bringing moisture into your dry hair. After washing your hair, air dry, as using a blow dyer will dry out your hair, taking all the moisture you just worked so hard to put in it. To make your hair shiny and smooth, put a small amount of oil on your hands and rub smooth onto your hair and get shiny hair. Make sure to get an oil treatment every two weeks to maintain non-dull, beautiful, healthy look.
